The Sloughis presented here were those who from 1996 to 1999 introduced their breed to the American Sighthound Field Association, and eventually convinced the Association that the Sloughi is worthy to be officially recognized. Three of them were inducted in ASFA's Hall of Fame

In 2004, following the submission by SFAA of a folder documenting the coursing talent of the breed Sloughi,
the American Kennel Club welcomes the breed in its coursing events.
At this point in time, Sloughis can only participate for demonstration only, and for Junior Coursing titles
